If you’re not sure what counts as an accomplishment, you’re not alone. Most people struggle to identify their own impact — not because they haven’t done great work, but because no one teaches you how to recognize it.
This section is here to help you pull that out.
The prompts below are the same ones I use in client sessions when someone says, “I can’t think of anything.” They’re designed to help you reframe the day-to-day things you’re already doing, the problem-solving, the process-fixing, the stepping up, the collaboration, as actual, valuable accomplishments.
Here’s how to use this section:
This is how you start building real evidence of your value. Not from inflated metrics or titles — but from the honest reflection of how you show up and what changes because of you.

“Okay, if I shadowed you for a week at work, what would I see you doing really well?”
“What’s something you’re known for? Like if your manager needed it done fast or done right, they’d ask you?”
“When someone says thank you at work, what is it usually for?”
“What’s a moment where you finished something and thought, ‘Damn, I crushed that’ — even if no one else noticed?”
“If I called your coworker or your boss right now and asked what you’re amazing at, what would they say?”
“Can you walk me through that project from start to finish — what changed because of you?”
“Did that save the team time? Money? Stress? What improved because of what you did?”
“Were you the first one to do that? Did you make it repeatable?”
“If you didn’t do that work, what would’ve happened?”
“Did it get handed off to you in chaos and you brought order?”
“Did you ever build a template, tracker, or system that others ended up using?”
“Have you made something more efficient, even if it felt small?”
“Have you fixed something that was just not working right before you got there?”
“What’s something you simplified for others that made their job easier?”
“What’s something you’re quietly proud of?”
“Was there a moment where you realized, ‘Oh, I’m actually really good at this’?”
“What’s a time you didn’t think you could pull it off — and you did?”
“Have you ever been asked to do something outside your role because they trusted you with it?”
“What’s the most impactful thing you’ve done that no one officially recognized?”
“Have you helped someone get up to speed faster?”
“Did you coach, train, or mentor anyone formally or informally?”
“Have people come to you for help or advice on something you’re great at?”
“Have you been pulled into things because you’re the ‘glue’ on the team?”
